HAVE YOU SEEN US: Kala Brown & Charlie Carver | Update 1

Updated 11:45 PM PDT

COUPLE MISSING FROM SOUTH CAROLINA

Kala Brown and Charlie Carver were suppose to meet Kala’s friend for dinner so she could get to know Charlie a little better but they were no-shows. That was six weeks ago (August 31, 2016)

Charlie Carver, 32

EVIDENCE LEFT BEHIND

Friends and Family contacted the Police Department to report the couple missing.  The Couple’s dog was left inside the Kala’s apartment without any food or water.  Family and friends who know her, say she would never do that.  It appears nothing was stolen from either residence as keys, meds and other personal items were still inside.

MISSING VEHICLE

However, Charlie’s vehicle has been reported stolen.

CHARLIE’S FACEBOOK PAGE

Family and friends were startled when Charlie’s Facebook page came alive with random postings of missing people and other messages about things the family/friends say Charlie would never post on his Page.

MEDIA CRAZE

One news media story titled, “Could the Killer or his Ex be Posting on Charlie’s Facebook page?”

Here’s the story where the FB page was first reported:  http://breaking911.com/missing-couples-facebook-account-suddenly-comes-alive-terrifying-family/

WHAT POLICE HAVE SAID SO FAR

It was reported that Police have not tried to track down the couple through Social Media stating they would have to get a search warrant and they just have not done that yet.  Facebook reported through one news media source saying that if they were served a Search Warrant, they’d turn over all details needed to find out who the poster is, the IP address and location information.

Kala Brown, 30

THE SEARCH CONTINUES

Whatever the case, their families, friends and communities are searching for them.  At least to find out what happened and some answers to calm their unknown fears.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST

We would appreciate if you would SHARE this post and flood Social Media. Someone knows something and maybe they are afraid to share with the Police or they have Tips about their Location.

This couple has been missing for six weeks and counting.

MISSING VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

The vehicle is a white 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 4-door with South Carolina Plate HWY224.  It also has a LSU decal in the back window and a LSU vanity plate on the front bumper.  There is damage on the side passenger mirror.

If you see this vehicle, call 9-1-1. Do not approach the vehicle.  Police are also looking for this vehicle and need the Public’s assistance to locate it.

WHY ARE WE POSTING ABOUT A PD CASE?

Because someone’s daughter and son are missing.  Maybe they are choosing to be missing or maybe not. We also know the Police seem to be looking for them and there are many misconceptions about what they are / are not doing with their investigation. Let’s #BringKalaAndCharlieHome

We feel this is a unique case that demands some answers and besides, it’s a story and will have an unexpected ending.  We really want them to be found safe and well.

This is what we know so far (gleaning from Social Media):

  • They were suppose to be met by a friend for dinner on 8/31/2016 but were no-shows
  • Kala left her dog without food or water and she would never do that
  • Said that Charlie is in the middle of a divorce with one woman
  • Charlie left from work but was not heard from since
  • They have been missing now for 6 weeks
  • Friends and Family have asked those to share on Social Media
  • Someone is posting on Charlie’s page things he would not normally say or do and he rarely posted on his Facebook Page.
  • Kala know as a frequent Facebook Page user has not posted anything since her disappearance
  • A Good Fund Me has been created but someone indicated it was a fake page raising money for something not legit (Please check it out if you feel like donating).
  • Because we want them to be found safe and well

Pat was last seen at his job in Kirkland on Monday, while his wife at 1300 hours on that same day.  Neighbors called Police on Tuesday, when Monique who had other plans did not show up.  Pat did not call or show up for work the next day either.  His brother says that he usually calls and this is so out-of-character for him.

Police originally called the disappearances as suspicious.   Detectives now believe that the couple may be victims of Homicidal violence according to evidence left at the remote wooded location where their two vehicles had been dumped and at the former home of one of the suspects.

EVIDENCE DOES NOT LIE

Detectives believe the couple may be victims of homicidal violence due to the evidence collected from the two vehicles that had been dumped in a remote, wooded area about 15 miles from the couple’s home.  Access to the vehicles originally was delayed due to the very steep and rocky terrain.  The vehicles have since been towed from the dump site.

Police also found evidence at the former John Reed’s home near where the couple resided.

Sheriff Office Searching for Missing Arlington Couple | Update 2

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES CONFIRMED

The Snohomish County Sheriff Trenary released an update on the missing Arlington , Washington state couple today at 1400 hours.

An Arlington, Washington couple – Patrick Shunn, 45 and his wife, former B.C. resident, Monique Patenaude, 46, have been missing since Tuesday, April 12, 2016.  Patrick was last seen at his job in Kirkland on Monday, April 11th.  His brother pleaded to the news media saying this is completely out-of-character for him.

Reports released in the Media, say Patrick “Pat” Shunn’s wife, Monique Patenaude was last seen around 1pm on that same Monday near her property.  Authorities were called when they failed to show up for pre-planned events.

The couple have ties to Oregon City, the Arlington-Darrington-Oso and B.C. areas.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is calling their disappearance as suspicious.

VEHICLES FOUND

In a press release today at 1400 hours, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office stated that the couple’s two vehicles were located in a remote wooded area, approximately 15 miles from their home.  Deputies had a difficult time accessing the area due to the steep terrain.

The couple’s vehicles have since been towed out of the area and being searched thoroughly.

LAWSUIT POSSIBLE MOTIVE

We reported on a previous lawsuit that came to light that seemed to include many of their neighbors.  Media asked the Snohomish County’s spokesman during the press release if the 2013 lawsuit had anything to do with their disappearance. It was answered as unknown as they did not have any info pertaining to that lawsuit readily available.

We missed the Spokesman’s initial statement but it was stated that brothers, John Reed and Tony Reed are wanted in connection with the couple’s disappearance. They are convicted felons and have an extensive criminal history but the Sheriff wold not elaborate if their criminal history included murder.

Police state they were possible neighbors that lived never Pat and Monique.  They are wanted by the Sheriff’s Office and are considered as Armed and Dangerous.  The SCSO is asking for the Public’s help and to call 9-1-1 if they are seen. Do not approach them.

Reporters at the Press Conference brought up the fact of the case of neighbors having a property dispute with the couple using their ATVs on others property to access the river.  The Sheriff was unable to comment on that part of the case.  He was more focused on finding the missing pair.

PUBLIC TIPLINE

Do you have information on the whereabouts of Patrick Shunn and his wife, Monique Patenaude?  If you have any tips but are afraid of sharing what you know or have seen, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has set up an anonymous Tipline at 425-388-3845.

Sheriff Office Searching for Missing Couple

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

An Arlington, Washington couple – Patrick Shunn, 45 and his wife, former B.C. resident, Monique Patenaude, 46, have been missing since Monday, April 11, 2016.  Patrick was last seen at his job in Kirkland on that day.  His brother pleaded to the news media saying this is completely out-of-character for him.

The couple have ties to Oregon, the Arlington-Darrington-Oso and B.C. areas.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is calling their disappearance as suspicious.

VEHICLES LOCATED

Both of their vehicles, descriptions, photos and Alerts were splashed all over mainstream media, Social media and through friends and family, in hopes they would be found along with the couple or, at least giving a sense of where they could be located.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office released a statement in how their Helicopter, “SnoHAWK10” located both vehicles, which appeared to have gone over an embankment down into a remote wooded area in the Oso area. Both vehicles lay near one another.

Due to the vehicles’ location, Police state they had not had the opportunity to search.  They are still rulling this disappearance as suspicious.

LAWSUIT COMING TO LIGHT

A news source reported and tipped us off about a lawsuit filed against the couple for some type of trespass charge.  We wanted to find out more about it ourselves before reporting on  our own, in hopes it could shed light on what they were having to live through and what that may have entailed, as this whole thing seems like a mystery all in itself.

In pouring over the many Washington State Court cases, we did happen to find one that appears to include many potential neighbors as we will call them due to the close proximity to where those in the Declarations live to the couple.

Since, we are not Legal Experts nor directly involved with this one case – we will not be making any type of assumption as to what the case may be about. However, what we will say is this – there are a lot of parties involved in this one particular case that could easily peeks someone’s interest.

We can only theorize but we will leave that up to the Law Enforcement professionals to make that determination based upon what the evidence is telling them in their investigation.

Washington State Patrol Sgt Hit by Drunk Driver on I-90

Seattle, Washington |  A person who decided to drive drunk has struck again in Washington as they do every so often. This time the DUI driver slammed into the side of a stationary State Trooper Sgt. sitting on the right side of the I-90 freeway.

The MVI [motor vehicle incident] occurrred Friday evening, May 29, 2015, around 2115 hours PDT, located westbound I-90 at the East highrise.

Seattle Fire units that were dispatched :

  • Aid 10
  • Engine 30
  • Engine 6
  • Aid 5

Though we don’t know the Trooper’s name or condition, most likely he or she was transported to HMC [Harborview Medical Center], our regional Trauma hospital here in Seattle.

For those of you or have friends/family traveling through the area, please always remember #MoveOver for emergency vehicles with #LightsAndSirens and to please remember to NOT #DontDrinkandDrive.  We CARE greatly about you, your safety and most importantly, for the #Lives you may seriously injure or kill.

Washington State Patrol, we are thinking of you all tonight and hoping his or her injuries are non life-threatening.

For traffic updates, please visit the Washington State DOT website at http://www.wsdot.com/traffic/trafficalerts/pugetsound.aspx?refnum=189257&action=2&aw=1.

To follow along with updates about this incident, follow @wsp2pio WSP Trooper Chris Webb.

DID YOU KNOW?

According to MADD’s website [http://www.madd.org/drunk-driving/] in 2013, 10,076 people were killed from drunk driving incidents and approximately 290,000 were injured.  This is so sad, because this is so completely preventable and that’s why we refuse to call it an “Accident”.   This is when a person makes a seriously bad choice and CHOOSES to drink with their own “Free will”.  It is not by accident that a person gets in the car and drives.

This not only does this affect many victims in these crashes but their support systems, such as their families, classmates, co-workers, friends, Public Safety 1st Responders and those who are indirectly involved which will help pay for the $132Billion annual price tag from drunk driving.

Please reach out to those who need yours or a Professional to help them stop drinking.  There are many resources that can be found on the internet and within your own communities.

Thank you for following our story this evening and please pray for the WSP Trooper/Sgt.  Though we are not technically not firefighters or police officers, we feel that ANY & ALL Public Safety/First Responders are OUR Family Members and we grately Love every single one of you out there and the people who support you.

SHORELINE FIRE Help Save Lives by Giving Away Free Window Guards

Shoreline, Washington

More and more calls come through 9-1-1 Dispatch centers across the Nation in kids pushing the screen out or being curious of windows in their homes, causing them to fall down below.  Some have received serious injuries, while a few have died.

The Safe Kids Worldwide say that in 2011 alone, there were 2.876,929 fall-related injuries that required ER treatment.  In 2010, there were 127 children that died from their fall-related injuries.  Kids younger than five years old falling out of windows U.S.-wide annually is 3,300.

Folks, we don’t know about you but to us that’s way too many kids getting hurt from PREVENTABLE injuries.  These “accidents” can be so prevented, if parents, caregivers, grandparents, friends, daycare, neighbors and the list goes on that can protect these innocent lives.  No one wants to see a child hurt or watch as they fall out of a window.

With this being said, Shoreline Fire Department is giving away FREE Window Guards starting TODAY.  You can pick these up from their Headquarters located at 17525 Aurora Avenue N in Shoreline Washington.

SPECIAL REQUEST: Helping A Hero In Need is What Families Do for One Another

A Duvall [Washington State] Senior Firefighter and His Family Are in Need of Family Assistance.  We are asking our Friends, Family, Fans, Followers, Visitors and those in the Public Safety professions to help spread the word like wildfire and Help a Hero In Need through Fundraising.

A FIREFIGHTER INJURED

On November 4, 2014, Duvall Fire’s Senior Firefighter and IAFF Member of Local 2878, Seth Ansell was off-duty when he suffered a severe eye requiring surgery.  We have heard things went well, but we all know it may be a  long and slow journey back to a healthy state.

HERO IN THE COMMUNITY

We found remnants from 2005, when Ansell received the Prestigious “Rookie of the Year” Award for his efforts and enthusiasm in his 1st year off of Probation presented to him at the Fire District #45 Annual Banquet.

Senior Firefighter Ansell would later participate in 2010, in one of the most grueling competitive annual fundraiser events known to Firefighters all over the Country:  The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb which draws over 1500 of his Brothers and Sisters from over 21 States and representing 300 Fire Departments.  A feat not easy for anyone less a Firefighter wearing protective gear and breathing apparatus worth an extra 50 pounds in a timed event running up 69 flights of stairs, 788 vertical feet equaling to around 1,311 steps.

If someone can conquer the Columbia Tower, known as the second tallest building west of the Mississippi and host to the Stairclimb event, he can conquer just about anything.

INJURIES CAUSE MORE THAN BODILY HARM

Though Senior Firefighter Ansell is on the mend, his wife Jessie and two sons, Walker and Hunter as a family face a tremendous uphill battle with medical bills and household expenses piling up.  As many can contest, medical bills can cause financial hardships, undue stress and burdens seemingly heavy to carry.  As a Family, together will need to focus on helping Seth remain strong and encouraged while he heals.

A favorite quote on Hope:

“Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

HELPING A HERO IN NEED

Others have stepped in to assist the Ansell Family with their medical bills and household expenses on the fundraising site, “GoFundMe”, but they still your help to reach their goal of $10,000.00. Since the creation of the site on November 6, 2014, Family and Friends have helped raise $6325.00 in Donations.

Please go to the Ansell Family Benevolent Fund at http://www.gofundme.com/ansellfamily and make a Donation Today.

All Proceeds will Benefit the Ansell Family directly with their expenses.

BECAUSE WE CARE

Whether taking care of firefighters on the fire ground or by offering support, we are here because we care about you,  your Brothers, Sisters and those who share a profound love for the Public Safety profession and everything you represent.

We appreciate the request to be called upon to help A Hero In Need and spread the word like wildfire to those who have asked how you can help this Family.

Now, LET’s DO THIS! Let’s help raise the bar over the $10,000.00 mark! Ready. Set. Go.

Miracle Drug Commercials Fall Short of Definition, Scams

We are constantly bombarded by commercials with promises of curing us from so many ailments, that it is sometimes it’s hard to believe.  But can they really save us from ourselves and keep us looking young forever?

11

The FDA warns consumers to research before you purchase.  Not everything promised in those informercials are what they say they are or do.  Infact, some of are flat out lies and scams to take your money and peace of mind.

Here’s a great article written by the FDA on this very same topic and what you can do, as a consumer to protect your health and your pocket book.

Bogus product!  Danger!  Health fraud alert!

You’ll never see these warnings on health products, but that’s what you ought to be thinking when you see claims like “miracle cure,” “revolutionary scientific breakthrough,” or “alternative to drugs or surgery.”

Health fraud scams have been around for hundreds of years. The snake oil salesmen of old have morphed into the deceptive, high-tech marketers of today. They prey on people’s desires for easy solutions to difficult health problems—from losing weight to curing serious diseases like cancer.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a health product is fraudulent if it is deceptively promoted as being effective against a disease or health condition but has not been scientifically proven safe and effective for that purpose.

Scammers promote their products through newspapers, magazines, TV infomercials and cyberspace. You can find health fraud scams in retail stores and on countless websites, in popup ads and spam, and on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Not Worth The Risk.

Health fraud scams can do more than waste your money. They can cause serious injury or even death, says Gary Coody, R.Ph., FDA’s national health fraud coordinator. “Using unproven treatments can delay getting a potentially life-saving diagnosis and medication that actually works. Also, fraudulent products sometimes contain hidden drug ingredients that can be harmful when unknowingly taken by consumers.”

Coody says fraudulent products often make claims related to:

  • weight loss
  • sexual performance
  • memory loss
  • serious diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and Alzheimer’s.

A Pervasive Problem.

Fraudulent products not only won’t work—they could cause serious injury. In the past few years, FDA laboratories have found more than 100 weight-loss products, illegally marketed as dietary supplements, that contained sibutramine, the active ingredient in the prescription weight-loss drug Meridia. In 2010, Meridia was withdrawn from the U.S. market after studies showed that it was associated with an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.

Fraudulent products marketed as drugs or dietary supplements are not the only health scams on the market. FDA found a fraudulent and expensive light therapy device with cure-all claims to treat fungal meningitis, Alzheimer’s, skin cancer, concussions and many other unrelated diseases. Generally, making health claims about a medical device without FDA clearance or approval of the device is illegal.

“Health fraud is a pervasive problem,” says Coody, “especially when scammers sell online. It’s difficult to track down the responsible parties. When we do find them and tell them their products are illegal, some will shut down their website. Unfortunately, however, these same products may reappear later on a different website, and sometimes may reappear with a different name.”

Tip Offs:

FDA offers some tip-offs to help you identify rip

One product that does it all.

Be suspicious of products that claim to cure a wide range of diseases. A New York firm claimed its products marketed as dietary supplements could treat or cure senile dementia, brain atrophy, atherosclerosis, kidney dysfunction, gangrene, depression, osteoarthritis, dysuria, and lung, cervical and prostate cancer. In October 2012, at FDA’s request, U.S. marshals seized these products.

  • Personal testimonials. Success stories, such as, “It cured my diabetes” or “My tumors are gone,” are easy to make up and are not a substitute for scientific evidence.
  • Quick fixes. Few diseases or conditions can be treated quickly, even with legitimate products. Beware of language such as, “Lose 30 pounds in 30 days” or “eliminates skin cancer in days.”
  • “All natural.” Some plants found in nature (such as poisonous mushrooms) can kill when consumed. Moreover, FDA has found numerous products promoted as “all natural” but that contain hidden and dangerously high doses of prescription drug ingredients or even untested active artificial ingredients.
  • “Miracle cure.” Alarms should go off when you see this claim or others like it such as, “new discovery,” “scientific breakthrough” or “secret ingredient.” If a real cure for a serious disease were discovered, it would be widely reported through the media and prescribed by health professionals—not buried in print ads, TV infomercials or on Internet sites.
  • Conspiracy theories. Claims like “The pharmaceutical industry and the government are working together to hide information about a miracle cure” are always untrue and unfounded. These statements are used to distract consumers from the obvious, common-sense questions about the so-called miracle cure.

Even with these tips, fraudulent health products are not always easy to spot. If you’re tempted to buy an unproven product or one with questionable claims, check with your doctor or other health care professional first.
