TETLIN FIRE – 2 miles SW of Tetlin.  NEWLY REPORTED!

  • Area:   Tok Area Forestry. Dept of Forestry.

  • Status:   Active fire behavior with group and isolated torching.  Numerous structures threatened.  Trail and area closures are in effect.

BROWN FIRE – 55 miles SW of Tucson. 

  • Area:   Southeast District.  AZ State Forestry.
  • Fire Fuels:   Chaparral and tall grass.
  • Status:   N flank – fire cerws constructed fireline above Elkhorn Ranch and on SW Flank Tohono O’odam Tribal Lands. Craig Hotshots demobilized.

WILDCAT FIRE – 26 miles SE of Jacob Lake. 

  • Area:   Kaibab National Forest.

BORDER FIRE 3 – 2 miles E of Potrero.  

  • Location: Off Hwy 188 / Hwy 94  near Tecate. CAL FIRE – Monte Vista Unit, San Diego County.
  • Started:  6/19/2016 @ 1103 Hours.
  • Cause:  Under investigation.
  • Fire Fuels:   Chaparral / dormant brush / tall grass.
  • Status:   Active fire with torching, short-range and  spotting. Numerous homes under threat.    Fire continues to move to the N and NE threatening nearby communities:  Evacuations / road / area and trail closures in effect.
  • Acres:   6723.  Reduction due to more accurate fire mapping.
  • Road Closures: Potrero Valley Road at Potrero Valley, Highway 94 just west of 25140 Highway 94, Highway 94 west of Buckman Springs Road and Buckman Springs Road at Old Buckman Springs.
  • Containment:  20%
  • Equipment:  50 crews, 184 engines, 18 helicopters. 4 air tankers, 24 water tenders, 11 bulldozers.
  • Personnel:  1907.
  • Incident Cooperators:  SDG&E, San Diego County Fire, Border Patrol, Cal Trans, CHP, San Diego Sheriff, BLM, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Red Cross, 2-1-1, San Diego County OES.

  • Status:   Extreme fire behavior with spotting and running.  Many structures are still being threatened.

NORTH PEACH FIRE – 4083 M Peach Ave, Fresno.   NEW!

  • Fire Type:  Vegetation Fire.
  • Start Day/Time:  6/22/2016 @ 1720 Hours.

  • Status:  Fire under control. Firefighters are doing extensive mop-up operations.
  • Injuries:  None.

RESERVOIR FIRE  – 3 miles N of Azusa.  

  • Area:   Angeles NF, Los Angeles County FD.

PONY FIRE  – 15 miles SW of Happy Camp.  NEWLY REPORTED!

  • Area:   Klamath National Forest.
  • Fire Fuels:   Timber, heavy logging slash, chaparral.
  • Status:   Command being transferred to the local unit occurring/occurred today.
  • Acres:   2858 acres.
  • Containment:  60%.

SHERPA FIRE  – 19 miles NW of Santa Barbara.  

  • Area:   Los Padres National Forest, San Barbara County. West of Goleta.
  • Started:  6/17/2016 @ 1430 Hours.
  • Cause:  Unknown, under investigation.
  • Fire Fuels:   Chaparral and tall grass.
  • Status:   Min fire activity observed over the last 24 hours w/scattered pockets of heat remaining w/in the burn area. No new increase in acreage burned overnight.  Fire crews to continue with building and reinforcing containment lines.
  • Structure Status:  270 threatened. 1 destroyed.
  • Acres:   7,486.
  • Containment:  93%.
  • Resources:    1176 personnel, 11 crews, 50 engines, 12 helicopters.

DOG HEAD FIRE – 6 miles NW of Tajique.

  • Area:   Cibola National Forest.
  • Cause:  Human. Under investigation.

  • Fire Fuels:  Timber and medium logging slash.
  • Status:   W side – dropped 2,000 gallons of retardant over fire.  Stumps & large diameter logs continue to smolder within fire perimeter.
