BIG MUD FIRE – 55 miles SW of Tanana.  

• Area:  Tanana Zone. BLM.  Started on FWS land.
• Fire Fuels: Dormant brush and hardwood litter.
• Status: Min fire behavior.
• Acres:  42,641 acres.
• Containment:  0% .
• Resources: 0.
• Cost-to-Date: $59K

TETLIN FIRE – 2 miles SW of Tetlin.  NEWLY REPORTED!

• Area:   Tok Area Forestry. Dept of Forestry.
• Fire Fuels:   Timber, brush and short grass.
• Status:   Active fire behavior with group and isolated torching.  Numerous structures threatened.  Trail and area closures are in effect.
• Threats:  0.
• Destroyed Structures:  0.
• Acres:  910. (reduced due to more accurate fire mapping)
• Containment:  5%.  
• Equipment:   10  crews. 7 engines. 3 helicopters.
• Personnel:  278 personnel.

ARIZONA

BROWN FIRE – 55 miles SW of Tucson. 

• Area:   Southeast District.  AZ State Forestry.
• Fire Fuels:   Chaparral and tall grass.
• Status:   N flank – fire cerws constructed fireline above Elkhorn Ranch and on SW Flank Tohono O’odam Tribal Lands. Craig Hotshots demobilized.
• Acres:   15,350.
• Containment:  65%.
• Resources:  230 personnel, 7 crews, 11 engines, 4 helicopters.
• Incident Cooperators:  Tohono O’Odham Naiton, Tubac Fire District, Border Patrol, Bureau of Indian Affairs, BLM, Fish & Wildlife Services, USDA Forest Service, Attar Valley Conservation Alliance, Animal Disaster Services, AZ SF, Green Valley FD, NW Fire District and Rio Rico FD.

CEDAR FIRE – 10 miles S of Show Low.

• Area:   Fort Apache Agency, BIA.
• Command:  IMT 1 / IC Pierson.
• Fire Fuels:   Timber and brush.
• Status:   N flank – smoldering.  W & S Flanks – backing, flanking, ground fire with single torching.
• Acres:   42802.
• Containment:  24%.
• Resources:   934 personnel, 25 crews, 51 engines, 7 choppers.
• Cost-to-Date:  $6.7 Million.

QUEMADO FIRE  – 13 miles NW of Springerville.  

• Area:   NE District – AZ State Forestry.
• Fire Fuels:   Short grass.
• Status:   Minimal fire behavior.
• Acres:   2285.
• Containment:  100%.
• Resources:  0.
• Cost-to-Date:  $215,000.00.

SAGE FIRE – 28 miles NE of Peach Springs, AZ  NEW!

• Area:   Truxton Canyon Agency. BIA.
• Fire Fuels:   Timber, brush and short grass..
• Status:   Active fire behavior with torching.  Road closures in effect.
• Acres:   500.
• Containment:  20%.
• Structures Lost:  2.
• Resources:    89 personnel, 4 crews, 1 engines, 0 helicopters.
• Cost-to-Date:  $1 Million.

WILDCAT FIRE – 26 miles SE of Jacob Lake. 

• Area:   Kaibab National Forest.
• Command:  IMT 2 / IC Bales.
• Fire Fuels:   Chaparral and short grass.
• Status:   N/A.
• Acres:   1502.
• Containment:  70%.
• Resources:  238 personnel, 5 crews, 3 engines, 1 helicopter.
• Cost-to-Date:  $2.5Million.

CALIFORNIA

BORDER FIRE 3 – 2 miles E of Potrero.  

• Location: Off Hwy 188 / Hwy 94  near Tecate. CAL FIRE – Monte Vista Unit, San Diego County.
• Started:  6/19/2016 @ 1103 Hours.
• Cause:  Under investigation.
• Fire Fuels:   Chaparral / dormant brush / tall grass.
• Status:   Active fire with torching, short-range and  spotting. Numerous homes under threat.    Fire continues to move to the N and NE threatening nearby communities:  Evacuations / road / area and trail closures in effect.
• Acres:   6723.  Reduction due to more accurate fire mapping.
• Road Closures: Potrero Valley Road at Potrero Valley, Highway 94 just west of 25140 Highway 94, Highway 94 west of Buckman Springs Road and Buckman Springs Road at Old Buckman Springs.
• Containment:  20%
• Equipment:  50 crews, 184 engines, 18 helicopters. 4 air tankers, 24 water tenders, 11 bulldozers.
• Personnel:  1907.
• Incident Cooperators:  SDG&E, San Diego County Fire, Border Patrol, Cal Trans, CHP, San Diego Sheriff, BLM, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Red Cross, 2-1-1, San Diego County OES.
• Destroyed Structures:  5 homes and 12 outbuildings.
• Threatened:  200 homes.
• Injuries:  3 Firefighters, including 1 minor.
• Cost-to-Date:  $2.7 Million.

SAN GABRIEL COMPLEX  

4900 acres. 1041 personnel. 15 crews. 137 engines. Cost-to-date:  $2.4 Million.

FISH FIRE –  2 miles NE of Azusa.  

• Area:   Angeles NF, Los Angeles County FD.
• Start Day/Time:  6/20/2016 @ 1120 hours.
• Fire Fuels:   Chaparral, brush and tall grass.
• Status:   Extreme fire behavior with spotting and running.  Many structures are still being threatened.
• Acres:   3000.
• Containment:  0%.
• Resources:    376 personnel, 11 crews, 50 engines, 12 helicopters.
• Cost-to-Date:  $1 Million.

NORTH PEACH FIRE – 4083 M Peach Ave, Fresno.   NEW!

• Fire Type:  Vegetation Fire.
• Start Day/Time:  6/22/2016 @ 1720 Hours.
• Acres:  10.
• Status:  Fire under control. Firefighters are doing extensive mop-up operations.
• Injuries:  None.

RESERVOIR FIRE  – 3 miles N of Azusa.  

• Area:   Angeles NF, Los Angeles County FD.
• Start Day/Time:  6/20/2016 @ 1100  hours.
• Fire Fuels:   Chaparral, brush and tall grass.
• Status:   Managed under San Gabriel Complex.
• Acres:   1500.
• Containment:  0%.
• Resources:    N/A.
• Cost-to-Date:  N/A.

PONY FIRE  – 15 miles SW of Happy Camp.  NEWLY REPORTED!

• Area:   Klamath National Forest.
• Fire Fuels:   Timber, heavy logging slash, chaparral.
• Status:   Command being transferred to the local unit occurring/occurred today.
• Acres:   2858 acres.
• Containment:  60%.
• Resources:  343 personnel, 4 crews, 11 engines, 4 helicopters.
• Cost-to-Date:  $14.9 Million

SHERPA FIRE  – 19 miles NW of Santa Barbara.  

• Area:   Los Padres National Forest, San Barbara County. West of Goleta.
• Started:  6/17/2016 @ 1430 Hours.
• Cause:  Unknown, under investigation.
• Fire Fuels:   Chaparral and tall grass.
• Status:   Min fire activity observed over the last 24 hours w/scattered pockets of heat remaining w/in the burn area. No new increase in acreage burned overnight.  Fire crews to continue with building and reinforcing containment lines.
• Structure Status:  270 threatened. 1 destroyed.
• Acres:   7,486.
• Containment:  93%.
• Resources:    1176 personnel, 11 crews, 50 engines, 12 helicopters.
• Injuries:  9.
• Cost-to-Date:  $1 Million.

 

COLORADO

BEAVER CREEK – 24 miles NW of Walden.  

• Area:  Routt National Forest.
• Started:  6/19/2016 @ noon.
• Cause:  Unknown. Under investigation.
• Fire Fuels:  Heavy timber, grass, sage brush..
• Acres:  3800.
• Status:  Winds pushing fire to East.  Night operations ongoing tonight and tomorrow.
• Resources:  120 personnel.
• Equipment:  2 dozers, 4 helos, 3 hand crews, 12 misc overhead team, 4 strike teams (engines).
• Injuries:  1 (minor) Firefighter.
• Damage Assessment:  40 homes and cabins threatened.
• Cost-to-Date:  $150,000.00.

KELSO FIRE – 35 miles S of Grand Junction.  NEW!

• Area:  Grand Mesa / Uncompahgre / Gunnison National Forest.
• Fire Fuels:  Timber and brush.
• Status:  Moderate fire behavior with isolate torching / creeping / backing. (Last Report)
• Acres:  500 acres.
• Resources:  12 personnel.  1 crew.
• Cost-to-Date:  $20,000.00.

PITCH FIRE – 18 miles E of Gateway.  NEWLY REPORTED!

• Area:  Grand Mesa / Uncompahgre / Gunnison National Forest.
• Fire Fuels:  Timber and brush.
• Status:  Min fire behavior. (Last report)
• Acres:  404 acres.
• Resources:  25 personnel. 1 crew. 1 engine.
• Cost-to-Date:  $95,000.00.

NEW MEXICO

BURRO FIRE – 12 miles NW of Mule Creek.  NEWLY REPORTED!

• Area:  Apache – Sitgreaves National Forest.
• Fire Fuels:   Brush and tall grass.
• Status:   Moderate fire behavior with flanking, backing and creeping.  Homes under threat.
• Acres:   550..
• Containment:  0%.
• Resources:  76 personnel.  3 crews, 0 engines, 2 copters.
• Cost-to-Date:  $50,000.00.

DOG HEAD FIRE – 6 miles NW of Tajique.

• Area:   Cibola National Forest.
• Cause:  Human. Under investigation.
• Command:  IMT 1 / IC Day.
• Fire Fuels:  Timber and medium logging slash.
• Status:   W side – dropped 2,000 gallons of retardant over fire.  Stumps & large diameter logs continue to smolder within fire perimeter.
• Acres:   17,912.
• Containment:  68%.
• Structure Damage:  24 Single residences damaged, along with 21 other minor structures.
• Resources:    787 personnel,  22  crews, 60 engines, 8 helicopters.
• Cost-to-Date:  $7 Million.

UTAH

ASPEN FIRE – 13 miles SW of Cedar City.  NEW!

• Area:   Dixie National Forest.
• Fire Fuels:   Timber, dormant brush, hardwood slash and light logging.
• Status:   Min fire behavior with isolated torching, creeping and smoldering. Road / trail closures in effect.
• Acres:   355.
• Containment:  97%.
• Resources:    295 personnel, 11 crews, 3 engines, 3 helicopters.
• Cost-to-Date:  $2.4 Million.

SADDLE FIRE – 2 miles S of Pine Valley.  

• Area:   Dixie National Forest.
• Cause: unknown. Started on Saddlem Mtn in Pine Valley Wilderness of DNF.
• Command:  IC Bill Hahnenberg.  NIMO team assumed command 6/22/2016 @ 0600 hours.
• Fire Fuels:   Timber.
• Status:   Active fire behavior with isolated torching, flanking, and backing.  Evacuations / road / trail closures in effect.
• Acres:   691.
• Containment:  0%.
• Resources:    355 personnel, 12 crews, 8 engines, 6 helicopters.
• Cost-to-Date:  $900,000.00.
• PUBLIC MEETING:  6/23/2016 @ 1900. Pine Valley Fire Station.
• PUBLIC REMINDERS:  Evidence of Drones in the Fire Zones.  Remember #NoDronesInFireZones.  If caught flying, it is a misdeamor.  If collides with fire apparatus, it is a felony.

• Status:   Min fire behavior.
• Threats:  0.
• Destroyed Structures:  0.
• Acres:  1293.
• Containment:  70%.

SR 17 FIRE – Grant County.  NEW!

• Area:  18000 block of SR 17 N.
• Cause:  Rollover crash.
• Fire Fuels:  Sage brush.
• Acres:  200.
• Evacuations:   Level 3, but lifted around 1545 Hours.
• Closures:  SR 17 N between Soap Lake / SR 282.
• Containment:  100%.
• Status:  in mop-up operations.

WYOMING

DEER CREEK FIRE – 25 miles SW of Gillette.  NEWLY REPORTED!

• Area:  Campbell County.
• Fire Fuels:  Timber, brush and tall grass.
• Status:  Min fire behavior.
• Threats:  SAge grouse habitat.
• Acres:  846.
• Containment:  90%.
• Resources:  42 personnel. 1 crew.
• Cost-to-Date:  $100,000.00

SHORT FIRE – 25 miles N of Recluse.  NEWLY REPORTED!

• Area:   Buffalo Field Office (BLM)
• Fire Fuels:   Timber. brush and tall grass.
• Status:   Min fire behavior.  Structures and sage grouse are threatened. Reduction in acreage due to more accurate fire mapping.
• Acres:   2300.
• Containment:  70%.
• Resources:    148 personnel, 5 crews, 8 engines, 2 helicopters.
• Cost-to-Date:  $700,000.00.
