ARIZONA

BROWN FIRE – 55 miles SW of Tucson. 

  • Area:   Southeast District.  AZ State Forestry.
  • Fire Fuels:   Chaparral and tall grass.
  • Status:   Active fire behavior with short runs and backing..
  • Acres:   15,350.
  • Containment:  65%.
  • Resources:  193 personnel, 6 crews, 9 engines, 3 helicopters.
  • Incident Cooperators:  Tohono O’Odham Naiton, Tubac Fire District, Border Patrol, Bureau of Indian Affairs, BLM, Fish & Wildlife Services, USDA Forest Service, Attar Valley Conservation Alliance, Animal Disaster Services, AZ SF, Green Valley FD, NW Fire District and Rio Rico FD.
  • Structures Lost:  1
  • Cost-to-Date:  $1.3 Million.

CEDAR FIRE – 10 miles S of Show Low.

  • Area:   Fort Apache Agency, BIA.
  • Command:  IMT 1 / IC Pierson.
  • Fire Fuels:   Timber and brush.
  • Status:   Moderate fire behavior with group torching, flanking and backing. Many structures still under threat. Evacuations and road closures in effect.
  • Acres:   42,802
  • Containment:   24%.
  • Resources:   934 personnel. 23 crews, 51 engines, 7 copters.
  • Cost-to-Date:  $8.2 Million.

QUEMADO FIRE  – 13 miles NW of Springerville.  

  • Area:   NE District – AZ State Forestry.
  • Fire Fuels:   Short grass.
  • Status:   Minimal fire behavior.
  • Acres:   2285.
  • Containment:  100%.
  • Resources:  0.
  • Cost-to-Date:  $215,000.00.

SAGE – TCA FIRE – 28 miles NE of Peach Springs, AZ  NEWLY COMBINED!

  • Area:   Truxton Canyon Agency. BIA.
  • Fire Fuels:   Timber, brush and short grass..
  • Status:   No new information.
  • Acres:   500.
  • Containment:  20%.
  • Structures Lost:  2.
  • Resources:    89 personnel, 4 crews, 1 engines, 0 helicopters.
  • Cost-to-Date:  $60,000.00.

NEW MEXICO

BURRO FIRE – 12 miles NW of Mule Creek.  

  • Area:  Apache – Sitgreaves National Forest.
  • Fire Fuels:   Brush and tall grass.
  • Status:   Min fire behavior with backing and smoldering. Homes threatened.
  • Acres:   1000.
  • Containment:  30%.
  • Resources:  76 personnel. 2 crews. 2 copters.
  • Cost-to-Date:  $100,000.00.

NORTH FIRE – 25 miles SW of Magdalena.  NEWLY REPORTED!

  • Area: Cibola National Forest
  • Fire Fuels:  Timber.
  • Status:  Min fire behavior with flanking, backing and creeping. Structures threatened.  Road / area / tail closures in effect.  Last report
  • Acres: 36,246.
  • Personnel:  142.
  • Resources: 3 crew. 5 engines. 1 helicopter.
  • Cost-to-Date:  $3.2 Million.

DOG HEAD FIRE – 6 miles NW of Tajique.

  • Area:   Cibola National Forest.
  • Cause:  Human. Under investigation.
  • Command:  IMT 1 / IC Day.
  • Fire Fuels:  Timber and medium logging slash.
  • Status:   Min fire behavior. Road / area and trail closures in effect.
  • Acres:   17,912.
  • Containment:  68%.
  • Structure Damage: 56 structures lost.  24 Single residences damaged, along with 21 other minor structures.
  • Resources:    787 personnel,  16  crews, 54 engines, 8 helicopters.
  • Cost-to-Date:  $7 Million.
