24 miles north of Walden. Start 7/19. Cause under investigation. 38,350 acres. 72% contained. 155 personnel. Fire behavior is min, smoldering. creeping.
19 miles NW of Moran. Start 7/25/2016 by lightning. 20,801 acres. 119 personnel. Extreme fire behavior due to strong, gusty winds and very low relative humidity.
10 miles Northeast of Beaver. Start 8/9/2016 by lightning. Type 4 IMT. 7301 acres. Unknown % containment status. 19 personnel assigned.
11 miles S of Encampment; 30 miles NNW of Walden. Started 8/14/2016 by lightning. 2115 acres. 7% contained. 34 personnel. Fire behavior is behavior, smoldering and creeping.
3 miles northeast of Tower Junction and 0.75 miles from Silver Tip Ranch in the northeast flank of the fire. Reported on 8/13/2016 by lightning. 12,693 acres. Unknown containment status . Fire behavior has min activity and smoldering.
11 miles northeast of Tetonia. Detected on 8/13/2016. 606 acres. Unknown % containment status. 7 personnel. Behavior is smoldering and creeping.
Yellowstone National Park. Started 8/26/2016 by lightning. 1442 acres. Unknown % containment status. Fire has min smoldering.
North of Salmon. Started 7/26/2016 by lightning. 357 acres. 1 personnel assigned 100% contained. There is a HIGH fire Danger on the Salmon-Challis National Forest lands.
Fawn pass area in the Yellowstone National Park. Started 8/4/2016 by lightning. 2706 acres. Unknown % containment. Fire is unstaffed and being monitored by helicopter.
Fly Canyon (UT)
Approximately 5 miles north of Joes Valley. Started 9/8/2016 by lightning. 2866 acres. 10% contained. 212 personnel assigned. Continuation of fire suppression action on north, northeast and southeast sides of the fire with air resources, firefighters, and engines and structure protection of campgrounds, power lines, cabins. Central Utah Interagency Type 3 Team as command.
Gap (CA) – Klamath NF
Seiad Valley. Started 8/27/2016. Unknown cause. 33,867 acres. 98% containment status. 658 personnel. Min fire behavior with fire within containment lines.
Gillman (CA) – Shasta – Trinity NF
N bound I-5 at O’Brien exit. Started 9/15/2016. Unknown. 3 acres. Forward movement stopped. 3 Forest Service Air tankers have dropped 12,000 gallons of retardant on the area. (Mutual Aid).
Maple (WY) – Yellowstone NP
4 miles NNE of the town of West Yellowstone. Start 8/8/16 by lightning. 45,377 acres. 88% contained. 215 personnel. Behavior is minimal. Forecast of rain is possible to fall over the fire ground in the next 12 hours.
Old Fire (CA) – Stanilaus NF
Mariposa County. Off Old Yosemite Rd, 8 miles east of Greeley Hill. 150 acres. 50% containment status. Fire is spotting ahead with a moderate rate of spread.
Pioneer (ID) – Boise NF
East of Deadwood Reservoir and south of Forest Service Rd 579. Start 7/18/2016 from unknown cause. 186,400 acres. 56% containment status. Fire behavior is moderate, creeping, smoldering, single tree torching.
Roaring Fire (ID) – Salmon – Challis NF
Located on the ridge between Roaring and Goat Creeks above the confluence of the Middle Fork Salmon and Salmon Rivers. Start 7/18/2016 by lightning. 5731 acres. 1 personnel assigned and to monitor the fire.
Rock Creek (WA) – Okanogan – Wenatchee NF
Near Naches. 1050 acres. 25% contained. 426 personnel. Air quality is poor.
Silver Creek (CO) – Routt NF
10 Miles East of Phippsburg, in Sarvis Creek Wilderness on the Routt National Forest, Yampa Ranger District. Started 8/20/2016 by lightning. 322 acres. 0% contained. Caused by unattended campfire. 4 engines. 17 fire personnel.
18 Miles SW of Encampment. Medicine Bow NF and Thunder Basin National Grasslands. Start 9/10/2016 by unknown ignition source. 2452 acres. 10% contained. 164 fire personnel. Behavior is min and creeping.
Soberanes (CA) – Los Padres NF
Soberanes Creek, Garrapata State Park, Palo Colorado/Big Sur, & Ventana Wilderness. Started 7/22/2016 by illegal campfire. 107,375 acres. 56% contained. 1392 personnel. No night staff on fire. Crews will continue to do burnout operations when able to do so.
Twin Lakes (WY) – Wind River and Bighorn Basin District
Approximately 19 miles S/SW of Meeteetse. Start 8/8/2016 by lightning. 1579 acres. 100% contained. 3 personnel assigned. Rehab to be conducted by a dozer.
Whit (WY) – WY State Forestry
12 miles West of Cody. Undetermined cause and under investigation. 12,387 acres. 100% contained. 3 personnel. Being monitored by staff.
Willard (CA) – Lassen/Modoc Unit
CAL Fire. Off of Willard Creek Road, west of Susanville. Started 9/11/2016. Cause unknown. 2575 acres. 75% containment status. 2 residences and 5 outbuildings destroyed. 1663 personnel. 120 engines. 54 crews. 9 dozers and 22 water tenders. CAL FIRE IMT 5.
