Incident Summary:
The Juniper Fire was ignited by a lightning strike on May 17th around midnight in the area of the Sierra Ancha Wilderness on the Tonto National Forest.
Resources:
There are currently 304 personnel assigned to this incident including 5 Hotshot crews, 5 – Type 3 and 9-Type 6 Engines, 2- Type 3 helicopters and 3- Dozers with lot of support personnel.
Command consists of a Tonto NF Type 3 IMT Team (Central West Zone) with IC: Andy Mandel l; with Barry Johnson, IC-Trainee.

Fire Behavior:
Fire is growing/moving slowly through duff, dried grass and understory.
There currently is no containment on the fire.

The following are cooperators on this fire: AZ EPA, AZ Game and Fish Department, AZ Department of Transportation, Gila County Emergency Management Agency, Gila County Sheriffs Office and Salt River Project.
