UPDATE 3 | WEDNESDAY

INCIDENT SUMMARY

A wildfire is burning off of Hog Flat Reservoir and Hwy 144, west of Susanville in Lassen County and nearby to the GOLD FIRE, another large fire incident that the CAL FIRE LMU are both managing with separate Fire Commands.

Started 7/18/2020 at 1530 PDT. Fire fuels consist of timber, brush grasses. Cause is unknown and under investigation.

  • 9,517 acres
  • 26% containment status
  • Active active overnight with minimal growth
  • RED FLAG WARNING issued for throughout day and night
  • Expected heavy winds and dry lightning in the area of the fire
  • Essential fire optic cable damaged causing poor communications connectivity between Susanville, CAL FIRE HQ and the ICP.
  • Internet and cell service restoration in effect
  • Evacuations/road closures in effect
  • 170 structures threatened
