Rock Creek Fire

Incident Summary

A wildfire broke out on the afternoon of September 10th between the communities of Pine Cliff and Nile, Washington State.  It is burning on land managed within the Naches Ranger District in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.

Location

The Rock Creek wildfire is located 19 miles West of Ellensburg and 12 miles NW of Naches, Washington State.

Command

USDA Forest Service is the lead agency on this incident based out of the Wenatchee area. Washington Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) is also assisting with this fire.

Fire Fuels

Fire fuels include timber and grass.

Resources

There are 412 fire personnel assigned along with 7 crews, 30 engines and 2 helicopters. Fire being managed by  a NW IMT 7 team.

Evacuations

All orders have been lifted.

Current Fire Status

The wildfire has burned 1383 acres and is listed with a 55% containment status.

Fire behavior is moderate, flanking, backing and creeping.

A cold front passage with gusty winds and a chance of precipitation is forecast for this weekend.

0 structures destroyed/damaged or injuries have been reported.
