We have been posting many 2016 wildfires and you can easily see they seem to be popping up everywhere, prompting both structure firefighters to respond on strike teams to wildland firefighters working extremely hard to suppress.

Here is the most up-to-date list of wildfires for all States excluding Northwest fires (Washington & Oregon).

NEW | Anole Fire (LA):  Sabine National Wildlife Refuge, FWS.  33 miles SW of Saint Charles.  Tall grass. Moderate fire behavior with wind-driven runs and flanking. Structures threatened. 3,000 acres. 50% contained. 14 personnel.  1 engine. 1 copter. $30,000 CTD.  FWS lands. ~

Baker Fire (CA):  Off of Baker Rd / Plymire Rd, 2 miles NW of Red Bluff. NW Tehama County.  80 acres.  100% containment. ~

NEWLY REPORTED | Baldwin Fire (AZ):  3 miles south of Heber-Overgaard. Started 7/19/2016 by lightning.  4 personnel.  1,735 acres. 100% contained. ~

Beaver Creek Fire (CO):  Routt NF.   NIMO (Quesinberry). 24 miles NW  of Walden, CO. Timber and brush. Forest Service lands. Active fire behavior with group torching, short crown runs and backing. Numerous structures threatened. Evacuations, road, area and trail closures in effect. 34,677 acres. 18% contained. 239 personnel.  2 crews. 23 engines. 5 copters. 17 structures lost. $16.6M CTD. Forest Service lands. ~

Blue Lake Fire (MT):  DNRC. Started on BLM land 10 miles southwest of Ennis, MT. Timber and brush.  Moderate fire behavior with torching, spotting and smoldering. Residences and sage grouse habitat threatened.  629 acres. 45% contained.  113 personnel.  4 crews.  3 engines. 1 copter.  $2.8M CTD.  BLM lands. ~

NEW | Box Canyon Fire (UT):   Uinta/Wasatch-Cache NF.  23 miles NE of Heber City, UT. Timber and closed timber litter. Active fire behavior with short crown runs, torching and creeping. Structures threatened. Trail and area closures in effect. 1,968 acres. 25% contained. 81 personnel.  2 crews.  2 engines.  3 copters.  $305,000 CTD.  Forest Service land. ~

NEW | Broud Mouth (UT):  Bear River Area, Utah DOF. 15 miles NW of Tremonton. Chaparral and tall grass. Active fire behavior with spotting and running. Structures threatened. 1,000 acres. 0% contained. 34 personnel.  8 engines. $50,000 CTD. ~

NEW | Butte Fire (MT):  Miles City Field Office.  Started on private land 14 miles SE of Forsyth.  Extreme fire behavior with single tree torching and wind-driven runs. Structures threatened.  1,000 acres. 0% contained.  71 personnel.  14 engines.  2 copters.  $300,000 CTD.  Private lands. ~

NEW | Clark Fire (CA):  East of US 395 in June and Mammoth Lake areas.  South of Mono Lake in Inyo NF.  150 miles South of Reno.  Started 8/4/2016 by lightning @ 1400 hours. 300 personnel.  0% contained.  Clark Canyon, a popular area has been evacuated.  300 acres.  ~

Cliff Creek Fire (WY):    Bridger-Teton NF. Transfer of command from IMT 2 (DeMasters) to IMT 2 (Bird) occurred yesterday.15 miles East of Hoback, Timber.   Active fire behavior with group torching and short-range spotting. Structures threatened. Evacuations have been lifted. Road, area and trail closures in effect. $12.2M CTD. Forest Service lands. ~

Cold Fire (CA):  Off Hwy 128 / W of Pheasants Valley Rd / W of Winters in Yolo County.  Incident Cooperators:  Napa Co FD, Winters FPD, Dixon FPD, Vacaville FPD, North Bay IMT, CHP and Sheriff Offices from Napa Co, Solano Co and Yolo Co. ~ 4,700 acres. 15% acres. ~ 900+ personnel.  24 crews. 65 engines. 6 air tankers.  8 copters.  22 dozers.  15 water tenders. $909,000 CTD. ~

Comet Fire (ID):   Salmon-Challis NF. 13 miles North of Salmon. Timber and short grass. Minimal fire behavior. Area closure have been lifted.  358 acres. 90% contained.  No personnel/resources assigned.  $1.1M CTD.  Forest Service lands. ~

Copper King Fire (MT):  Lolo NF.   IMT 2 (Thompson). 7 miles East of Thompson Falls, MT. Timber. Moderate fire behavior. Residences threatened. Road, area and trail closures in effect. 1,286 acres.  0% contained.  275 personnel.  5 crews.  10 engines. 7 copters.  $1.3M CTD.  Forest Service lands. ~

Cuermo Fire (NM):  10 miles SW of Abiquiu / 13 miles SE of Coyote on Coyote Ranger District.  Started 8/1/2016.  Has been in monitor patrol status but had some fire activity last night. ~

Diablo Fire (CA):  SW of Patterson in Stanislaus County. 100 acres. 100% contained. ~

Fuller Fire (AZ):  Grand Canyon National Park.  14,541 acres. North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, near Point Imperial.  131 personnel. 14,541 acres. Unknown containment status. ~

Goose Fire (CA): Fresno Co. Off of Gooseberry Lane / Morgan Canyon, South of Prather.   400 structures threatened.  9 destroyed (4 homes/5 outbuildings).  2,241 acres. 80% contained. ~ 9 structures (4 homes, 5 other structures). 1 structure damaged.  ~ Evacatuations and road closures in effect. ~  81 engines.  50 crews.  6 copters. 4 dozers.  21 water tender.  1,657 total personnel. ~

NEW | Grub Fire (CA):  W of Oakhurst.  Madera County.  85 acres. 30% contained. ~

NEW | Hart Fire (CA):  75 acres.  0% contained.  Kern Co FD.  Near WB Hwy 58 and Flat Rd. Slow ROS.  Fire crews making good progress along with air support on knockdown.  Zero impact on Hwy 58. ~

Imperial Fire (AZ):  Imperial National Wildlife Refuge.  FWS. 14 miles North of Yuma. Brush, hardwood litter and tall grass. Minimal fire behavior.  100 acres.  50% contained. 58 personnel. 2 crews. 1 engine. $250,000 CTD. FWS lands.. ~

NEW | Johnson Fire (CA):  Incident Cooperators:  Off of Johnson Rd, NEor Orick.  22 acres.  35% contained. ~

Lava Mountain Fire (WY):  Shoshone NF.  14,385 acres.  Shoshone NF. IMT 1 (Martin). 20 miles NW of Dubois, WY. Timber, heavy logging slash and short grass.  Active fire behavior with single tree torching and short-range spotting. Numerous structures threatened. Road, area and trail closures in effect. 14,414 acres.  60% contained. 642 personnel.  11 crews.  38 engines. 8 copters. $16.1M CTD.  Forest Service lands. ~

 

NEW | McGaffey Fire (NM):  Carson NF.  Camino Ranger District.  Started by lightning.  525 acres. 75% contained.  The fire has been managed by a Type 3 organization and will transition back to the district organization today at 6:00 p.m. Last report. ~

NEW | Modesto Fire (CA):  Near Hatch/Carpenter. 3 acres.  Vegetation Fire. Stanislaus County.  ~

North Tullock Fire (MT):  MT DNR. 2,720 acres.   20 miles SE of Custer. Timber and tall grass.  85% contained. 274 personnel.  4 crews.  16 engines. 2 copters.  $575,000 CTD. County land.  ~

Pearson #2 Fire (NM):   Carlsbad Field Office, BLM. 20 miles SW of Hobbs, NM. Brush and tall grass. Min  316 acres. 100% contained.  4 personnel.  1 engine. $15,000 CTD. BLM lands. ~

Pioneer Fire (ID):   Boise NF. IMT 1 (Lund). 5 miles North of Idaho City.  Timber. Active fire behavior with torching, spotting and running. Structures threatened. Road, area and trail closures in effect.  8,350 acres. 29% contained.  1,482 personnel. 42 crews.  51 engines. 9 copters. 5 structures lost.  $18.9M CTD. Forest Service lands. ~

Poodle Fire (NV):   Winnemucca District, BLM. 20 miles NW of Gerlach. Timber and brush.  Minimal fire behavior. Sage grouse habitat threatened. 6,557 acres.  90% contained. 385 personnel.  14 crews. 10 engines. 3 copters.  $1.5M CTD.  BLM lands. ~

Roaring Lion Fire (MT):    Bitterroot NF. IMT 1 (Poncin). 5 miles SW of Hamilton. Timber. Active fire behavior with group torching, short-range spotting and short crown runs. Numerous structures threatened. Evacuations, road, trail and area closures in effect.  7,129 acres.  7% contained.  649 personnel.  10 crews.  47 engines. 9 copters. 64 structures lost. $2.1M CTD.  Forest Service lands. ~

Sobranes Fire (CA):  Monterey County. Soberanes Creek, Garrapata State Park, north of Palo Colorado/Big Sur. 1 fatality. Cause is an illegal campfire. Unified Command w/CAL Fire – San Benito Monterey, USFS and Los Padres NF ~ 51,200  acres. 30% contained. 2000 homes threatened. 57 homes, 11 outbuildings destroyed; 3 structures, 2 outbuildings damaged. Evacuations and road closures in effect. ~ 480 engines. 108 crews. 17 helicopters. 6 Air tankers.  69 dozers. 54 water tenders. 5,552, total personnel. ~

Tokewanna Fire (WY):  Kemmerer Field Office.  1,313 acres. Unita County. IMT 2 (Greer). 15 miles South of Mountain View. Timber, brush and short grass. Minimal fire behavior. Evacuations have been lifted. Road, area and trail closures in effect. Sage grouse habitat threatened. Reduction in acreage due to more accurate mapping. 1,287 acres. 90% contained. 370 personnel.  10 crews. 12 engines. 1 copter. 8 structures lost. $3.4M CTD. County lands. ~

Tribal Fire (UT) :  Salt Lake Field Office, BLM. 25 miles SW  of Tooele.. Grass.  Minimal fire behavior. Structures threatened. 1,829 acres.  25% contained. 5 engines. 1 copter. $65,000 CTD. BLM lands. ~

Virginia Mountains Complex (NV):   (2 fires), Carson City District Office, BLM. IMT 2 (Roide). 40 miles N of Reno.  BLM lands. Active fire behavior with group torching, uphill runs and backing. Evacuations have been lifted. Sage grouse habitat threatened. 59,727 acres. 68% contained.  707 personnel.  19 crews.  29 engines.  6 copters.  structures lost.  $6.5M CTD.  BLM. ~

Whit Fire (WY):  Wyoming State Forestry.  3,000 acres. 20 miles west of Cody.  Timber, brush and tall grass. Extreme fire behavior with wind-driven and short crown runs. Structures threatened. Evacuations and trail closures in effect. Sage grouse habitat threatened.  1,600 acres. 18% contained.  239 personnel.  2 crews.  23 engines. 5 copters. 17 structures lost.  $250,000 CTD.  BLM lands. ~

Wilson MA Fire (MT) Central Land Office, DNRC. Started on county land 17 miles North of Wolf Creek. Short grass. Active fire behavior with wind-driven runs. 619 acres. 100% contained.  $50,000 CTD.  County lands. ~
