Rock Creek Fire

Incident Summary

A wildfire broke out on the afternoon of September 10th between the communities of Pine Cliff and Nile, Washington State.  It is burning on land managed within the Naches Ranger District in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.


The Rock Creek wildfire is located 19 miles West of Ellensburg and 12 miles NW of Naches, Washington State.


USDA Forest Service is the lead agency on this incident based out of the Wenatchee area. Washington Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) is also assisting with this fire.


There are 330 personnel along with 6 crews, 16 engines and 2 helicopters.

A DNR strike was recently or is on-scene of the fire.

Current Fire Status

This is the final update from the  NW IMT 7 which will be transitioning over to a local Type 3 IMT team on Monday, 9/19/2016 at 0600 hours.

Crews are working to cool hot spots and securing containment lines

1383 acres @ 80% containment status.

0 structures have been lost and no injuries were reported.

Cost-to-Date is $3.3 Million.
