SIT REP 1 – MARCH 3, 2020
INCIDENT SUMMARY | A second wildfire is burning inside the State of California. This is burning in the Santa Ana Riverbottom near California Avenue and Grulla Court in the Norco community and just south of (Riverside County) Jurupda Valley.
There is an unknown cause and is currently under investigation.
RESOURCES | 30 engines. 5 water tender. 3 heliccopter. 210 firefighters. 7 Crews. 3 Bulldozers. 8 overhead personnel. Additionally there are Police Officers, Utilities, Air Attack, PIO and one Helitender on-scene. Earlier during the incident this afternoon, 2 OCFA strike teams and one helicopter were being deployed as mutual aid.
Parters Include | AMR, Animal Control, CAL FiRE / Riverside Unit and San Bernardino Units, City of Corona FD, Los Angele County FD, Orange County Fire Authority, Riverside FD, Riverside County Fire EMD, Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, San bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, Southern California Edison and the Norco Animal Rescue Team.
CURRENT STATUS | CAL FIRE firefighters f rom the Riverside unit have been able to gain a 20% containment status. The forward progression of the fire has been stopped. Fire has burned 175 acres.
Not long ago, fire was threatening about 500 homes as the winds were picking up but have suddenly died down. The Evacuation orders were downgraded from a mandatory evacuation orders to a Warning.
INJURIES | 2 civilians with non-threatening injuries
DAMAGE ASSESSMENT | 5 properties to fencing & outbuildings, minor damage.
